And, nearly as important as this step in her baby-hood is MY culinary accomplishment. I am VERY proud of my peas! It's fun to make the food and I am excited to do more. I love the way it looks and it's cool that I know exactly what is going into the food. I have no idea how it tastes, because I HATE peas...but look how pretty!!!
I have a couple of mom friends, Mandy and Sarah, who each make their own baby food and have sworn by it's simplicity and their enjoyment of the process. They both love the Cooking for Baby cookbook from Williams-Sonoma...and now I know why. It's so pretty and nice and helpful...and fun! It's not necessarily an organic cookbook...but the purpose is to encourage wholesome, less processed cooking for baby.

The peas look so pretty! It is fun seeing you try all of these things and when I have kids I can come to you. :) Looking forward to seeing you!
Yeah! How fun!!! What a good choice for a first food. The bib is awesome too.
(I know that cookbook is not organic, but like you, I just buy everything organic and make it, Organic is the way to go!!)
Glad you had fun making food- I hope we inspire others to just try it, even if only one time. It is so great for our little ones and gives us something fun to experiment with.
Keep us posted on your culinary experiences.
Love it! They look very yummy...especially if there were a side of meatloaf and taters. ;)
Ooooh....I've seen that cookbook too and it is very pretty...almost as pretty as your mashed up peas! Gwen is a lucky little girl. It looks like she had a blast!
Nice job Jen! I look forward to making my own baby food as well. :0)
I LOVED making all my baby food...mostly because those Gerber packs are so stinkin expensive!! Pretty soon you can graduate to "Deceptively Delicious"...my favorite toddler food cookbook! PS...it was really fun to see you on Sat.!!
